PX4 Software Hosts Inaugural Perth User Conference: Building the Future of Mining Tenement Management Software

At PX4 Software, we have always believed that software is only as good as the real-world problems it solves. On 15 July 2026, we brought our global user community together in Perth, Western Australia, for our first-ever Australian-hosted PX4 Software User Conference.

The event brought together over 30 Western Australian users, mining industry professionals, and members of the core PX4 team. It served as a collaborative forum focused on practical industry insights, product evolution, and the future of mineral land/ tenement/ tenure management software. Most importantly, it offered us an invaluable opportunity to sit down with the people who interact with our platform every day.

A Day of Industry Insights and Collaboration

The conference featured key leadership and product team members, including Toby Carrigan (Chief Executive Officer), Bill Haylock (Managing Director), Angela Plummer (Global Accounts & Services Manager), and Izzy Peterson (Chief Development Officer).

Throughout the day, the team provided updates on the global expansion of PX4 Software, platform enhancements, and strategies for supporting the complex, evolving requirements of modern mining and exploration companies.

Client Spotlight: IGO’s Custom API Workflows

A standout highlight of the schedule was a presentation by Michael Smith from IGO. Michael provided an inside look at IGO’s operational implementation of PX4, demonstrating how custom APIs seamlessly connect PX4 with their existing technology environment. His session illustrated how PX4 acts as a centralized, flexible hub for managing land access and mineral tenure while adapting smoothly to enterprise business processes.

Introducing PX4 Reimagined

A focal point of the Perth gathering was an advance look at PX4 Reimagined, our next-generation mining tenure management software platform slated for official launch in November 2026.

PX4 Reimagined represents a major technological investment designed to deliver a modern, highly scalable, and flexible foundation. While preserving the core functionality our clients rely on for regulatory compliance and obligation tracking, the new architecture enables faster innovation and smoother user experiences.

Conference attendees received an exclusive preview of the updated interface and upcoming feature sets, allowing us to align our vision directly with our core user base ahead of the November release.

Building PX4 Around Our Users

Interactive sticky-note feedback session on Western Australia tenement management challenges at the Perth PX4 conference.

The heart of the conference was a series of dedicated feedback workshops. Attendees broke into interactive sessions to discuss jurisdiction-specific hurdles, daily workflow efficiencies, and targeted feature requests.

Key discussion areas included:

  • High-value workflows: Identifying features currently driving the greatest administrative and operational efficiency.
  • Process optimization: Pinpointing manual handoffs and bottlenecks to streamline within the system.
  • Jurisdiction-specific needs: Addressing Western Australia’s unique tenement regulatory environment and compliance mandates.
  • Future roadmap alignment: Directing software development efforts toward high-impact, real-world operational challenges.

Listening to our users ensures that as PX4 expands globally, every new feature continues to add practical value rather than unnecessary complexity.

Cross-Market Insights: From North America to Western Australia

PX4 Chief Development Officer Izzy Peterson discussing North American mining land management insights.

Land management software for mining must adapt to distinct regulatory landscapes across borders. Izzy Peterson (Chief Development Officer) shared key takeaways from PX4’s expansion across North American markets, detailing how the platform has evolved to support varied legal frameworks, reporting standards, and operational models.

Despite regional differences, core tenement management challenges remain universal across global jurisdictions:

  1. Maintaining absolute accuracy in tenure data.
  2. Managing critical obligation deadlines and statutory requirements.
  3. Facilitating seamless stakeholder communications.
  4. Providing cross-functional teams with instant access to reliable land records.

Cross-pollinating these international insights allows us to strengthen features for Australian landmen while feeding Western Australian best practices back into our global platform development.

More Than a Software Conference

While the conference focused heavily on technology and product development, it was equally about bringing the PX4 community together.

With over 30 attendees in the room, the event created an opportunity for users to meet one another, share experiences, discuss challenges, and learn how other organizations are approaching land and tenure management.

For our team, these conversations are one of the most valuable aspects of hosting user conferences.

PX4 is used by organizations of different sizes, across different commodities and jurisdictions, and with different internal workflows. Bringing those users together creates an opportunity for everyone to learn from one another.

Looking Ahead

Our first Perth User Conference was a wonderful day, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to attend, participate in the discussions, share their experiences, and provide feedback.

As PX4 Software continues to grow, our user community will remain at the center of that growth.

From Western Australia to North America and the many jurisdictions in between, our goal is to continue building practical, powerful land and tenement management software that reflects the real-world needs of the mining and exploration industry.

The Perth conference was an important step in that journey and we look forward to continuing the conversation with our users as PX4 Reimagined launches in November 2026 and beyond.
